The Build Begins!
I’m beginning the build of Gutsy tonight. Yes, thought I’d get my butt in gear! The crazy week has slowed down finally, so I can focus a bit more on this project.
Again, if any of you have suggestions, don’t hesitate to make them! Just comment below.
Cheers!

P.S. There will be an outage planned for this site, starting tomorrow night, and going into Friday mid-day. The reason? I’m replacing the WordPress site with a more robust backend to handle all the content. It’s actually going to be really cool, I’m going to seperate everything into much easier to navigate sections, such as a “how to” section, a “scripts” section, a “Download” section, the blog, and a forum! It will take anywhere between 5 hours to 15 hours for the transfer of content and design to finish. Unfortunately it’s rather complicated to create the site offline, so everything will be done online.

Awesome, I can’t wait to see the new site and am greatly looking forward to the new forum. As for features, I really can’t think of any besides including some more emerald skins in the package of compiz-fusion. Oh, and kinda off subject but I can’t wait for the final version to be realeased.
Hi,
First of all, just thanks for the great work; well done man!
And then, after a quick look, I think you should add these to the DVD:
xCHM
Rar & Unrar
Samba Server
I agree with the Rar and Unrar , i would also like to add the par programs to that to, and if we are going for the complete set would be a newsreader like pan (http://pan.rebelbase.com) and also a nice powerfull bittorrent downloader .
also as prevously mentioned , some new desktop screens and grub loader screen with your MLUG / Dell Logos , to give your distros as uniqueness.
and if you are going for a dvd release , then the ability to install from disc other usefull software , alot of us are probably used to windows or using networks with windows on them so having access to windows services would be nice , Samba would be on the top of that list for sure …
but i would realllllly like help with setting up as a full blown network server which would include
a recomended pop/smtp server with spam filters , apache , php5 including phpmyadmin , cgi , mysql , ftp server+client , with the utils to configure them with desktop , and if possible some ebooks that go with each.
Other interesting directions could be , Gaming (pre installed games and a links to online gaming ) , Science ( Astronomy , Math and General Science) , Office ( database frontends , open office ) , Production ( Video and Audio Production software / editors ) , GPS ( Gps Mapping , and installation of GPS hardware ) how all of this would be done i thats the problem , if certian people could work on different areas. the distro would develope at a quicker pace..
Wow! it could be a killer if you include all that stuff which whizadree mentioned!
anyway; why don’t you include all packages inside DVD, so that poor people (like me) with poor connection be happy! ;)
This could be so nice, if I didn’t have to be online whenever I want install Ubuntu.
