GOOD NEWS! Suspend/Hibernate Fixed in Gutsy
So after compiling a zillion kernels I got fed up and decided to try the latest and greatest ATI driver. And what do you know, AIGLX is working great now! Smooth as silk and speedy too…
Until I get a cleaner and more accurate how-to up, refer to this post I did earlier: http://www.mylittleubuntuguide.com/2007/12/30/how-to-ati-w-compiz-hibernate-and-suspend-working/

Thanks John - looking forward to this one.
Hardy Heron is just around the corner…. think it will be closer to running ‘out of the box’?
Good question…it sounds very promising. With rumors of them addressing the hibernate issue, it just may be. Also, the BCM43xx wireless driver is now being integrated into the kernel and should work off the bat.
Right now my focus is getting the Gutsy CD finished and I’m going to worry about Hardy later. My new Gutsy CD will feature the ATI Catalyst driver from AMD and some fixes that make video playback work without flickering…something this ATI driver has trouble with.
Does this mean that maybe we should just wait for you to finish the cd, or can we just go ahead and upgrade with the instructions you laid out?
